This is the main engine fuel filter for use with the current and previous generation of Volvo Penta compact engines.  Having a good high quality filter on your engine will protect the finely machined fuel injection system from ingress of debris and small particles. This will enable your engine to run optimally, saving you money on both your fuel bill and help prevent expensive engine repairs.

It is common for a fuel filter to be changed every 12 months as part of an annual service, although service intervals do vary per engine. Volvo dealerships and parts shops are not always open or available wherever you may end up in your adventures. We recommend carrying a spare fuel filter or two on board to use in an emergency. Even if you can’t replace your fuel filter at least you can hand it to someone who can. During your next service use your on board spares and replenish your on board stock with new service parts. You will be confident in that next emergency of having good, serviceable parts in your on board stock.
